New Thatched Roof
Everyone loves the look of a new thatched roof. It makes the perfect choice for our next picture competition. It can be a brand new thatched property with a new thatch or even a 500 year old timber framed historic landmark which has had its latest new thatched roof.
Whether you are the property owner, proud master thatcher who created it or a passer by, get snapping and send in your pictures of any newly thatched roof. It might even be just a thatched porch or a summerhouse, detached, listed or even part of a terrace.
We are starting this competition in September 2026 and look forward to receiving your entries.

Anyone can enter as long as the picture is yours. The picture below is rather lovely one don’t you think?. Lets see yours.
Entering the Competition
Entering is simple. All you need to do is:
Email (claire@thatchadvicecentre.co.uk) with your New Thatched Roof pictures (up to six entries per person). Remember to also attach your name and contact number to validate your entries.
New Thatched Roof Gallery
Another gallery will appear on our website, to showcase your entries (copyrighted to the entrant).
Entries may also be chosen for our social media or website or even as the Winner!! This is a great opportunity for some free promotion.
Entries and Winner
The Winner will be announced in our Autumn 2027 Newsletter and will be offered a £20 gift voucher, as previous competitions.
As sson as enough entries are received, they will be added to a gallery on the website for everyone to enjoy (copyrighted to entrant) and may be used on social media (giving free promotion). We love our gorgeous competition galleries which showcase the amazing range of thatched cottages which can be seen.
This 2026 – 2027 Competition
“New Thatched Roof” competition is organised by the Thatch Advice Centre.
Entry Information
Up to six pictures to be emailed to claire@thatchadvicecentre.co.uk
Every entry must have the entrants email, name and contact telephone number. Entries without the correct information will be invalidated.
Final Date for Entries and choosing the Winner
Midnight on 1st September 2027 is when you need to have all entries in.
The winner will be chosen by an independent judge, and will be contacted regarding the prize etc.
Rules of Entry to this Competition
All pictures entered must all be original work of the entrant, They must not infringe the rights of any other party. For this reason, entrants must be the sole owner of copyright in all photographs or pictures supplied and must have obtained permission of any people featured in the entries or their parents/guardians if children under 16 are featured. No laws to have been breached when taking any pictures.
Pictures will be copyrighted to the entrant unless requested otherwise, and may be used for Thatch Advice Centre purposes.
Entrants must agreed to be bound by these rules on entering the competition.
More Information
The right is reserved to cancel this competition or alter any of the rules at any stage. This will only happen if deemed absolutely necessary, and/or if circumstances arise outside of the Thatch Advice Centre’s control.
If the winner of the Thatch Advice Centre “New Thatched Roof”Picture Competition cannot be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made, the right is reserved to present the prize to another entrant.

The Winner will be contacted by email with regard to their prize etc. Their winning picture will be added to the foot of this webpage as well as promoted on our social media Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest . It goes without saying that it will also be mentioned in the following bi-annual Newsletter.
