An apron is a section of thatch applied under a window or chimney to finish off the coatwork and give the additional protection needed.
An apron is like a small ridge and can be block style (raised above the coatwork) or flush. In the same way as ridges, they are often spar patterned.
In the same way that the ridges are finished, apron flashings are either cement or lead to complete the work.
We have provided some pictures of aprons but are happy to receive more to show our visitors.
