Here is a great opportunity is to learn more and/or and help out with thatching on a rare example of a classic folk architecture building in Slovakia.  The majority of the work is at ground level but ladders may be involved too.   In your spare time there are places to visit and the wonderful Slovakian countryside to enjoy.   Here is what our friends at the International National Trusts Organisation said.

“In brief, this is an opportunity to help to conserve a rare example of a thatched roof on a folk architecture-style building in the Slovakian countryside.  It is organised by the National Trust of Slovakia, a small charity, and they are specifically looking for international participants.  They have organised these types of non-profit holidays for a number of number of years and we are advertising it on the International National Trusts Organisation website as part of a successful programme that has been running for nine years.
