Lead Flashing

Lead flashing is used as a waterproofing join on a thatch roof eg around chimneys and under windows.

Lead Flashings last longer than cement flashings.

#Chimney Fire Safety Week

The Fire Service is doing an excellent job and we are helping to promote Chimney Safety Fire Week.

Make sure your chimney has been swept by a professional before you light it. This is often a requirement of your insurance company too.

Major cause of thatch fires is ejected embers from a chimney so you can reduce this by sweeping regularly through the burning season.

Saddle

A saddle is the name given to a section of roof which joins a main roof elevation. As shown in the picture, its where a lower section meets the main roof.

A saddle has nothing to do with horses!!
