What holds wire netting to a Thatched roof?

Wire netting is laid vertically from the ridge to the eaves with seams side by side and not overlapping. The seams are twisted together and secured at the eaves timber with nails or staples. Netting on ridges is pinned underneath with U shaped wire or spars.
